Efficient Channel Coding and Telesat to Demonstrate a World’s First for DVB−S2

Washington D.C. – March 22^nd 2005 -- Efficient Channel Coding (ECC) announced today they will present live demonstrations of the DVB-S2 based iSatLite™ broadband interactive satellite communication system. The first-ever live demonstrations will take place March 23rd -- 25th, during Satellite 2005 in Washington, D.C. Using Telesat Canada’s Anik F2 spacecraft and the ECC iSatLite system, live voice, video and high-speed data connectivity will be available throughout the show from the ECC booth (#118).

iSatLite is a new broadband communications system based on the DVB-S2 standard. The complete iSatLite system provides unprecedented bandwidth efficiency and includes many advanced features. Highlights include VoIP header compression, lossless data compression, advanced QoS, and integrated terminal features such as routing and TCP/IP acceleration. iSatLite is available today and being deployed in pilot networks worldwide.

Launched by Telesat in July of 2004, the satellite provides opportunity for improvements in the delivery of commercial and consumer services.
